FAQ

Plump
Live?
Alice, a regular among the Plump community seen at nearly every show
since they started testing the waters in local Houston - area open
mic nights said, "Going to a Plump show is not just about
hearing the music. It's about catching the groove. When
plump finds it, the audience can really feel it. They always
seem to get the audience involved in the show." Plump
often invites selected audience members to join them onstage for: an
improv hip-hop flow, to recite a selected poem to music, to blow a
horn.. or a kazoo, and on a particularly good day they'll get the
whole crowd dancing and becoming an extension of the rhythm
section. This is just some of the fun you can look forward to
whenever Plump plays.
Where
does Plump play?
Plump has already performed at places like Last Concert Cafe,
Fabulous Satellite Lounge, Fitzgerald's, Paesano's, the Rhythm Room,
the Heliotrope, the Dancing Marlin, and others in the Houston
area. Plump has also branched out to The Vibe in Austin, TX,
The Red Blood Club, Muddy Waters, and The Boar's Nest in Dallas, TX,
and to Rikenjak's in Lake Charles, LA. Plans to visit a city
near you throughout Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Colorado and beyond
are in the works. Not too shabby for a young, budding jam
band.
Plump
History?
Hopefully, in the annals of semi-important events, the birth of
Plump will be recorded as September 2001. That's when Al,
Andrew, and Doug played for the first hour-long living room
scorcher. A month later they decided to go on an open mic to
play for an actual audience. A day later, they decided to go
to a different open mic that was still open. They've been
pulling stunts like that ever since. After a few gigs, Plump
decided they wanted to add a saxophone player, and luckily Dave is
about as good as they come. Plump has never looked back.
Now Plump is looking to make your venue their latest home away from
home.
